Working alongside our resident Shakespeare expert, Lauren Amy Parkes, Grassroots has developed an exciting programme for school workshops.
We are passionately commited to making Shakespeare accessible and supporting teachers in delivering great work.
We believe that Shakespeare is fun and easy to understand, especially when the class get up on their feet and engage with the dramatic language.

COME JOIN THE FUN!
Are you auditioning for drama school?
Are you a professional actor wanting to learn more about our company's unique way of workshopping and working with the text?
Then come hang out with us!
If you’ve ever wanted to know how an Original Practices company works this is your opportunity! You'll get a unique insight into how the team work without a director and what it is like to part of a tight-knit acting ensemble. This is a great opportunity to workshop with the group and have fun working with Shakespeare's texts.
You will explore the collaborative and creative way that the company works, giving you a chance to perform Shakespeare with fresh eyes.
We launched the Sessions in 2017 after a few years of people asking how we worked, and what it was like to work without a director. We believe in empowering the actor to unleash their creativity and trust in their instincts.
We will help you work on a Shakespearean monologue of your choice and help you shine. We want to see you handle the text with confidence and own the stage, and as a collaborative ensemble, we will show you how to do that, and in a supportive, creative environment. Our Artistic Director, Siobhán Daly will be on hand, including other members of the team across the dates, to help you rediscover the joy of Shakespeare and a fresh new way of working.
We have a Session in central London Zone 1 on the afternoon of Sunday 26th November.
To apply to join the workshops, please email us with your Spotlight link or acting CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
We recommend early application based on the oversubscription of our previous workshops.
All of our workshops are carried out in a group style, which is how we work as a company. If you are interested in private coaching, please contact email@example.com
We look forward to meeting you!
